| Please list any comments or feedback about the Dementia Friends Session that you would like to share. | Thank you so much for this. A lot of what was gone over seemed very practical and applicable and "obvious", however, when it comes to topics we as society are not comfortable with, familiar with, want to avoid, or simply are unknowledgeable about, things that seem "obvious" don't always come first to mind. Thank you for reinforcing how we should be treating others with dignity and care, and for stressing the importance of determining whether certain things matter enough to "correct." I also really enjoyed learning about the bookshelf analogy, and how our feelings and emotions are able to withstand the earthquakes. How beautiful. I especially enjoyed how that was tied into how our dementia friend may not remember the content of a specific interaction, but they certainly will remember how they felt. Very powerful. It is so important for all of us to be kind towards one another and create a true feeling of safety and belonging. I know it's what we would want for our loved ones and ourselves. Thank you. |
